Our Mission

The Indiana Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association exists to offer peace of mind to Indiana residents by providing protection when life insurance, health insurance, or annuity companies become insolvent. Established in 1978, we are a non-profit statutory entity dedicated to ensuring continuity of coverage for policyholders during difficult financial times.

How We Help

When a member insurer of the Indiana Association is found to be insolvent and is ordered to be liquidated, we step in to:

• Take over the insolvent insurer's assets and liabilities under court supervision.
• Process and distribute claims to eligible policyholders.
• Maintain continuity of coverage by providing temporary insurance until new coverage can be arranged.

What We Cover

The Indiana Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association provides protection for:

• Life insurance: Term, whole, universal, and other types of life insurance policies.
• Health insurance: Individual and group health insurance plans.
• Annuities: Fixed and variable annuities.
