Our Story

Rapides Primary Health Care Center began operations as a community-based and governed not-for-profit organization in 1996. Our mission is to provide quality, affordable health and human services with dignity and respect to the underserved and targeted population in Rapides Parish.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services to cater to the diverse needs of our patients. Our medical services include comprehensive primary medical care, management of hypertension and diabetes, diagnostic laboratory, diabetic screenings, HIV testing, kid med/immunizations, management of ADHD and ADD, weight management, annual female pelvic exams, Pap tests, and wellness exams for men, women, and children. Our dental program consists of a Louisiana licensed dentist and a host of dental assistants, providing services such as hygiene, extractions, restorative, nitrous oxide, and same-day appointments. We also offer mental health services, providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals to address their mental health concerns.

Our Commitment

At Rapides Primary Health Care Center, we are committed to providing quality healthcare services to our patients. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their ability to pay. That's why we offer a sliding-fee scale to determine the cost of care for patients without insurance. We also utilize several programs for under-insured and non-uninsured patients, including the Cenla Medication Access Program (CMAP), the LINKS program, and the Wellness Program.
