Protecting Our Waterways for a Healthier Community
The Battle Creek Area Clean Water Partnership (BCACWP) is a collaborative effort dedicated to safeguarding the water resources of our region. Comprised of dedicated individuals and organizations, including the Cities of Battle Creek and Springfield, Calhoun County Water Resources Commissioner, Calhoun County Road Department, the townships of Bedford, Emmett, Leroy, Newton, and Pennfield, the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center, Kellogg Community College, Battle Creek Area Schools, and Lakeview Public Schools, the Partnership unites a diverse range of stakeholders around a shared mission: protecting the health and vitality of our waterways.
The BCACWP recognizes that clean water is essential not only for the environment, but also for public health, economic prosperity, and the quality of life enjoyed by all residents. Through collaborative efforts, policy initiatives, and community engagement, the Partnership strives to ensure that our rivers, lakes, and streams remain pristine environments for generations to come.
Our Shared Vision
The BCACWP envisions a future where the waterways of the Battle Creek area are healthy, vibrant, and valued by all. This vision is rooted in the belief that clean water is a fundamental right and a responsibility we all share.
We believe that by working together, we can protect and restore the integrity of our water resources and create a more sustainable and resilient future for our community.
Meeting Needs, Engaging Communities
The BCACWP believes that effective water resource management requires the active participation of all stakeholders. To that end, the Partnership regularly holds public meetings, workshops, and educational programs to engage residents, businesses, and organizations in the critical task of protecting our waterways.
Through these outreach efforts, the BCACWP aims to raise awareness about the importance of water quality, foster a sense of shared responsibility, and empower our community to take action to safeguard our precious water resources.
Protecting Our Water Sources: A Collective Responsibility
The BCACWP recognizes that protecting our water quality requires a multifaceted approach that addresses a range of potential threats.
Through education and outreach programs, the Partnership works to inform residents about the importance of responsible water use, proper disposal practices, and the potential impacts of everyday activities on water quality. We also collaborate with local businesses and industries to implement best practices for minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainable operations.
