Our selection of solid wood flooring is made from 3/4" thick solid wood, featuring tongue and groove sides to join the boards. These floors come in both unfinished and prefinished options, available in a wide range of wood species. The main advantage of solid wood flooring is its ability to be resanded and refinished over many years, making it a long-lasting investment for your home or business. However, it is important to note that solid wood floors are susceptible to expansion and contraction due to humidity changes, requiring a gap around the perimeter for movement accommodation.

Prefinished solid wood floors often come with slightly beveled top edges where the tongue and groove meet, while unfinished wood floors that are sanded, stained, and finished on the job site will have smooth seamless joints. With the right care and maintenance, solid wood floors can last 50 years or more, providing a timeless beauty and durability that is hard to match.

Laminate flooring was first invented in 1977 by the Swedish company Perstorp, and since then, many other manufacturers such as Dupont, Mannington, Armstrong, and Shaw have begun making laminate flooring. This type of flooring features a surface layer of two thin sheets of paper impregnated with melamine, providing a hard transparent type of plastic sheet that is impervious to common damaging elements.
