Welcome to Carolina Dance - Where Passion Meets Performance
Carolina Dance was founded in 2009 with a vision to cultivate a lifelong passion for dance in a supportive, professional environment. Under the leadership of owner and artistic director Courtney English, our studios in Roseboro and Clinton, North Carolina, provide personalized instruction for dancers aged 2.5 and up. With over 30 years of dance training and education, including a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education from East Carolina University, Mrs. English has built a program that emphasizes technical excellence, creativity, and character development. Our curriculum includes recreational and competitive tracks across eight dance styles, complemented by summer programs and community performance opportunities. We maintain small class sizes to ensure individual attention, fostering confidence and growth in every student. Through annual recitals, holiday showcases, and participation in local parades, we create memorable experiences that extend beyond the studio. Our competitive dance teams have performed at Walt Disney World, New York City, and the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade, demonstrating our commitment to excellence. With two locations serving Eastern North Carolina, we remain dedicated to making dance accessible while maintaining the highest standards of instruction. Our mission is to share the transformative power of dance with future generations.

Services
Ballet Classes
Our ballet program develops foundational technique through structured lessons emphasizing proper form, posture, and movement vocabulary. Students progress through recognized levels while building strength, flexibility, and artistic expression. Classes incorporate barre work, center combinations, and performance pieces to cultivate well-rounded dancers.
Competitive Teams
Selected dancers join award-winning teams that compete regionally and perform at special events. Training includes advanced choreography, team building, and master classes with industry professionals. Members gain stage experience through 3-4 annual competitions and community outreach performances in Eastern North Carolina.
Summer Camps
Week-long summer intensives offer concentrated dance training combined with creative activities. Campers explore multiple dance styles, create original choreography, and participate in end-of-camp showcases. Programs are available at both studio locations for different age groups throughout June and July.
Private Lessons
One-on-one instruction provides personalized attention for dancers seeking to improve specific skills or prepare for performances. Sessions focus on technical refinement, solo choreography, and individualized goal setting with experienced instructors in any dance style offered at the studio.
Lyrical Training
Lyrical classes combine ballet and jazz techniques to create emotionally expressive performances. Students learn to interpret music through movement, developing fluidity and storytelling ability. Classes emphasize musicality, dynamics, and creative expression for dancers aged 7 and older.
