Our Services
We offer a range of services, including Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Cupping, Chinese Tuina massage, and Herbal therapy. Acupuncture involves the stimulation of carefully selected anatomical points called Acupoints on the body, which can be manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation. Moxibustion is done through burning the herb called mugwort and applying the heat to Acupoints or certain parts of the body directly or indirectly. Cupping is a therapy in which a jar is anchored to the skin through the vacuum created by the lack of oxygen and the skin is pulled upward on the inside of the jar as the air inside cools. Tuina massage is a form of acupressure massage on muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Herbal therapy means that herbs, herbal materials, herbal preparations, and finished herbal products are administrated orally or externally.
Our Practitioner
Our practitioner, Xiong Chang, has an enhanced academic preparation, with a Bachelor's degree in Medicine from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and a Master's degree in Medicine from the People's Liberation Army Postgraduate Medical School. He has extensive practical experience, with over 9 years of working in the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army and years of working in Switzerland and the US. He has served the Greater Charlottesville area since 2008 and has performed over 60,000 treatments by the year of 2016. He has extensive experience in integrating Acupuncture with Western Medicine and has comprehensive knowledge, skills, and the ability to do Acupuncture research.
