Pend D'Orielle Winery

Nestled in the heart of Sandpoint, Idaho, Pend d'Oreille Winery has been a integral part of the community since its establishment in 1995 by Steve and Julie Meyer. Recently, the winery has been taken over by Jim Bopp and Kylie Presta, who are committed to continuing the legacy of award-winning wine production and storytelling that Pend d'Oreille Winery is known for.

Jim Bopp, a Sandpoint native, has a long history with the winery. He worked the harvest season of 1998 and returned to the winery in 2007 as a mentee of Steve Meyer. Today, Jim is the lead winemaker, overseeing the entire wine-making process from vine to bottle. He is dedicated to making balanced, outstanding wines, with no compromise on quality or character. Under Jim's leadership, the wines at Pend d'Oreille Winery will continue to reflect his talents and experience as a winemaker.

In addition to the wines that customers know and love, Jim and his team plan to introduce new varietals. Jim also has his own label - Cottage Island Wines. His 2013 Deadhead Red, made from 100% Petit Verdot, won a double gold at the 2015 Tri-Cities Wine Festival.

Kylie Presta, a Bonners Ferry native, has worked for Pend d'Oreille Winery for 5 years. She started in the laboratory, analyzing grapes and wine through the fermentation and aging processes. Kylie then began assisting with harvest and bottling and soon developed a passion for viticulture and wine-making. As a new partner, she is excited to explore all aspects of the business.

Events and Experiences

Pend d'Oreille Winery hosts a variety of events throughout the year, creating memorable experiences for the community. From Fire Dancing in February to the Harvest Party in September, there's always something happening at the winery. The Bistro Rouge refill program and gift shop are also available, offering wine accessories and fun gifts. The tasting room features local beer on tap and small plates, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine.

Wine Club

Joining the Pend d'Oreille Winery Wine Club is a great way to stay connected to the winery and its events. Members receive quarterly wine shipments, access to exclusive events, and discounts on wine and merchandise.

Visit Us

The Pend d'Oreille Winery tasting room and lifestyle gift shop are open daily for tasting. The wine bar and tasting room features an elegant bar made of molded concrete and refurbished hardwood from the Belwood remodel, all created by local craftsmen. Jim, Kylie, and their supportive families are thrilled for the opportunity to keep Pend d'Oreille Winery in operation, producing wine and bringing a new inspiration to a familiar space.
