My Story: A Celebration of Life Through Photography

My love affair with photography began at the tender age of 12 when my parents gifted me a 35mm camera. That simple act ignited a spark within me, a desire to understand the magic of capturing light and frozen moments. My journey continued in high school where I enrolled in my first photography class, delving into the art of developing black and white film and prints in the darkroom.

Soon, word of my talent spread, and friends began requesting me to take their senior portraits, images that would eventually grace our high school yearbook. That year, I also earned first prize for a documentary street photograph captured at a vibrant cultural event downtown. This resounding success solidified my passion and paved the way for my future endeavors.

Driven by my artistic vision, I pursued a BFA from the University of Houston, honing my skills and exploring different photographic styles. Fast forward to 1997, a year that marked a turning point in my life. I took the leap and opened my own photography studio, specializing in black and white wedding photography with a photojournalistic approach. I loved the challenge of blending seamlessly into the background, capturing those unscripted, artistic moments that truly embodied the essence of the celebration.

Today, I still have the privilege of photographing some of those same wedding clients, now witnessing their lives unfold through the lens. From maternity sessions to newborn photography, to family portraits at every stage of childhood, all culminating in high school senior portraits - it's a full circle journey. And within this circle, I am deeply honored to share in life's delightful moments with so many beloved clients.
