New Horizons is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping children and families in Texas for over 50 years. Our mission is to provide empowering environments, compassionate care, and effective solutions, transforming the lives of children and families who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect. We are committed to maintaining high-performance standards and best practices for child welfare and behavioral health, as demonstrated by our national accreditation by the Council on Accreditation.

Our Mission and History

Established in 1969, New Horizons has grown from a small residential treatment center to a comprehensive agency offering a range of services, including counseling, foster care, adoption, and residential treatment. Our organization has consistently prioritized the needs of children and families, adapting our programs and services to meet the evolving challenges they face. Through the decades, we have remained steadfast in our dedication to providing healing, hope, and the opportunity for a brighter future to those who need it most.

Board of Directors and Leadership

New Horizons is governed by a devoted Board of Directors, comprised of community leaders and professionals with a shared commitment to our mission. Our leadership team, supported by a dedicated staff of over 200 passionate individuals, works tirelessly to ensure the effective delivery of our programs and services. Together, we strive to create a positive impact on the lives of the children and families we serve.

Our Work: The Ranch, Audrey Grace House, and Family & Youth Success Counseling

*The Ranch*: Located in rural Texas, The Ranch offers a serene and nurturing environment for children who are emotionally traumatized due to abuse or neglect. Our highly trained staff provides individualized therapeutic treatment, including animal-assisted therapy, to help children heal and develop coping skills.

*Audrey Grace House*: This residential home offers temporary housing and support for expectant mothers and young mothers in crisis, providing a safe space for them to make informed decisions about their future and the future of their child.

*Family & Youth Success Counseling*: Our community-wide counseling center provides free counseling services to youth and families, helping them reconnect and overcome challenges through evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Foster Care and Adoption

New Horizons is committed to finding safe, loving homes for children through foster care and adoption. We offer comprehensive training, resources, and support for families interested in becoming foster parents or adopting a child from the foster care system. Our goal is to create a nurturing and stable environment for children, allowing them to thrive and reach their full potential.

Residential Treatment for Children

Our residential treatment program offers specialized care and therapeutic support for children who require a higher level of intervention due to emotional, behavioral, or psychological challenges. We focus on healing and growth, empowering children to overcome adversity and build resilience as they prepare for a successful future.
