Therapeutic Riding Programs for All Abilities
High & Mighty Therapeutic Riding & Driving Center was founded in 2013 to provide equine-assisted services for individuals of all abilities. Our mission centers on leveraging the horse-human connection to enhance physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Located on 60 acres in Ghent, NY, we operate a PATH Premier Accredited facility with a 66x120-foot indoor arena, outdoor rings, and extensive trails. Our programs include therapeutic riding, driving, unmounted activities, and specialized summer camps. We maintain rigorous safety standards and industry-leading practices through our accreditation. Our team combines expertise in education, horsemanship, and therapeutic care to create inclusive environments where participants feel safe and supported.

We serve children and adults with diverse needs, offering tailored experiences that promote growth and personal development. Our sensory trail features interactive installations created by participants and volunteers, enhancing engagement with our horses. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we rely on community support to sustain our programs and expand our impact. Our founder, Laura R. Corsun, brings decades of experience as an educator and horsewoman to shape our unique approach. We welcome volunteers and donors who share our commitment to making equine therapy accessible to all.

Services
Riding Program
Our riding program uses horseback riding to improve balance, coordination, and confidence. Certified instructors guide participants through tailored exercises that promote physical development and emotional well-being. This program benefits individuals with physical disabilities, autism, PTSD, and other challenges.
Driving Program
Participants learn to drive horse-drawn carriages, developing fine motor skills and decision-making abilities. This adaptive program accommodates wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. Driving activities focus on building independence and fostering trust between participants and horses.
Unmounted Program
Unmounted sessions focus on horsemanship skills without riding. Participants engage in grooming, leading exercises, and obstacle courses to build confidence and social skills. These activities emphasize emotional regulation and non-verbal communication with horses.
Special Programs
Special programs offer customized equine-assisted activities for specific needs. This includes veterans' therapy sessions, sensory integration programs, and small-group workshops. Each session is designed to address individual goals through structured horse interactions.
Horseplay Summer Camp
Our summer camp combines horse care education with recreational activities. Campers aged 4-18 participate in daily riding lessons, barn chores, and team-building games. The program emphasizes social skills development and nature-based learning in a supportive environment.
