Our Story

Columbus Builders Supply was founded by W.F. Kern Sr. with the purchase of the Lane Avenue Fuel & Supply Company, initially a small hay and grain dealer using horse and wagon for delivery of materials. Over the years, the company has grown to become one of Central Ohio's leading building material dealers and distributors, with a motto "Quality Materials Since 1907." Today, in its third generation of Kerns, the company operates from three convenient locations in Columbus, Plain City, and Heath, offering an extensive range of products and services to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

Our Locations

Columbus Builders Supply operates from three showrooms and extensive warehouses in Grandview, Plain City, and Heath. Our headquarters, located at 900 West Third Avenue in Columbus, is convenient to all areas of the city and surrounding counties. Our Plain City facility, located at 7969 Memorial Drive, serves the Dublin, Delaware, London, and Marysville areas, while our Heath location, at 2299 Hebron Road, serves Heath, Newark, and Granville.
