St Croix Cleaners has a rich history rooted in a commitment to quality, service, and innovation. Founded in 1960, the company began its journey in Stillwater, Minnesota, with a single store and a coin-operated dry cleaning machine in a local Laundromat. Over the years, the business expanded under the guidance of new owners, Dave and Polly Nemec, who acquired the company in 2001 with the goal of transforming it into a leader in the dry cleaning industry.

Driven by a passion for excellence, St Croix Cleaners has undergone a remarkable evolution. In 2007, the company made a groundbreaking leap by investing in a new type of dry cleaning machine that utilized environmentally friendly, non-toxic solvents. This marked a significant shift in the industry, offering gentler and more sustainable cleaning methods while preserving the vibrancy and longevity of garments.

In recognition of its exceptional dedication to quality and cleaner practices, St Croix Cleaners has earned the "Seal of Approval" in Dry Cleaning since 2007. This esteemed award, presented to Dry Cleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) professionals demonstrating a commitment to the highest standards, is a testament to the company's unwavering pursuit of excellence.

Building on its success, St Croix Cleaners expanded its services in 2008 with the launch of Treasured Garment Restoration, a specialist division focusing on the meticulous care of delicate and vintage items. Their exemplary skills in vintage restoration, bridal gown cleaning, and theater costume preservation have gained national recognition, with clients sending garments from across the country, including locations as far away as London, Boston, and California.

In 2017, the company ventured further into new areas by establishing St Croix Linen, a division specializing in commercial linen service. St Croix Linen caters to a diverse range of businesses, including restaurants, hotels, airlines, medical clinics, gyms, spas, and more, throughout the Minneapolis-St Paul metro area.

Today, St Croix Cleaners stands as a testament to its founder's vision. It remains a family-owned and operated business, dedicated to providing high-quality dry cleaning, superior customer service, and a wide array of services.
