Our Story

In 1994, Scott Gage, an ardent outdoorsman with a dream of life in Alaska, arrived in the Last Frontier with just $300 in his pocket. His vision? To build a reputable tree care business. Starting small, he tirelessly sought out dead trees and stumps, knocking on doors to offer his services. His dedication to providing fair prices and exceptional workmanship quickly gained him a loyal clientele. Fueled by this success, Gage Tree Service grew from a one-man operation into a team of approximately 30 dedicated employees, broadening its service offerings over the years. In 2009, to better serve the expanding community, a second location was established in Wasilla.

Today, Scott, a certified second-generation arborist, actively manages the company's day-to-day operations alongside a team of skilled and knowledgeable arborists. As the seasons change, so too does Gage Tree Service's focus. While arboriculture remains a core competency, the company seamlessly transitions its expertise to holiday lighting and winter services, ensuring year-round support for its customers.

Understanding the ever-changing needs of Alaskan residents, we also offer comprehensive land and lot clearing services, including brush chipping, for those needing to prepare land for new construction or simply restore order to overgrown areas.

As winter descends on Alaska, Gage Tree Service shifts gears to provide festive holiday lighting installations that add cheer and sparkle to homes and businesses. We complete the winter season with dependable snow removal services, keeping driveways, walkways, and roofs clear of snow, providing a safe and worry-free environment.
