The Maine Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) is a leading organization representing over 1,500 talented and dedicated Family Physicians in Maine. We exist to improve the health of all people in Maine by advancing the specialty of Family Medicine.

What We Do

The MAFP is actively involved in various initiatives to promote and improve healthcare in Maine, including:

1. Advocacy & Public Policy

• Advocacy for public policies that support Family Medicine and access to healthcare.
• Collaborating with stakeholders on legislative and regulatory issues affecting the practice of Family Medicine.
• Raising awareness of healthcare disparities and advocating for equitable access to care for all.

2. Education & Professional Development

• Providing educational resources and professional development opportunities for Family Physicians.
• Hosting conferences, workshops, and webinars on relevant topics.
• Recognizing and awarding exceptional Family Physicians through scholarships, awards, and recognition programs.

3. Community Engagement & Public Outreach

• Partnering with community organizations to address health disparities and improve community health.
• Raising awareness about important healthcare issues through public campaigns and initiatives.
