At ClearView Communities, we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive and supportive environment for individuals with psychiatric illnesses. Our mission is to create a superior therapeutic residential experience, empowering our residents to achieve recovery and independent living in the community.

Our Philosophy

We believe that recovery from mental illness is possible, and that it requires a deep understanding of one's own illness and self-awareness of behaviors. Our program is designed to help individuals rekindle hope and build the confidence and skills necessary to work towards independence. We take a holistic approach to treatment, combining clinical services with community integration to provide a unique and comprehensive program.

Our Services

Our residential treatment center offers a range of services, including psychiatry and medication management, individual and group therapy, staffed housing, nursing, family therapy, art therapy, occupational therapy, milieu therapy, supported employment and education, and independent living and activities of daily life skills support. We treat a variety of conditions, including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders, as well as co-occurring substance abuse disorders.

Our program is designed to identify individual strengths and challenges, and to assist residents in overcoming the barriers they may encounter. We believe that every individual has the capacity to make positive changes in their lives, and that they have the desire and drive to move forward and grow. Our goal is to provide a supportive and empowering environment that allows our residents to reach their full potential.

Our History

Founded in 2011 by Baltimore native Sylvan C. Herman, ClearView Communities is a non-profit organization that has quickly built a reputation as a premier mental health program for adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Our intimate size and high staff-to-resident ratio allow us to offer a uniquely individualized approach to care.
