Since 2013, we have been dedicated to serving the Filipino community in the San Francisco Bay Area. What started as a single person's vision to provide better service in the balikbayan box industry has grown into a thriving company with a team of dedicated professionals. Founder Egay Tajonera, initially spent over a decade working for a freight forwarding company, gaining invaluable firsthand experience in the complexities of shipping. He witnessed the needs and challenges of the Filipino community firsthand, driving trucks and personally picking up boxes. Inspired by his own experiences and a desire to provide something better, he, along with his wife, Mabelle Perez-Tajonera, decided to create Metro Box Cargo, a company built on the foundation of exceptional customer service and a deep understanding of the Filipino shipping experience.
