Our mission is to provide leadership in the field of children's mental health; to address the unique needs of children and youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental disorders from birth to transition to adulthood; to ensure rights to full citizenship; support access to community-based services for all children and youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental disorders and their families; and to provide information and engage in advocacy regarding research, early intervention, family support, education, transition services and other services needed by these children and youth and their families.
Services
We provide a variety of services to support families and children with emotional, behavioral, or mental disorders. Our main goal is to ensure that children and youth with these challenges obtain the necessary supports and services so they can grow up healthy and reach their full potential.
Our services include:
1. Support Groups: We offer support groups for parents and caregivers who are dealing with children and youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental disorders. These groups provide a safe space for families to share their experiences, ask questions, and receive emotional support.
2. Advocacy: We advocate for policies and practices that benefit children and youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental disorders and their families. Our advocacy efforts focus on ensuring access to community-based services, promoting research, and improving early intervention and education.
3. Education: We provide educational resources and training for families, professionals, and community members on topics related to children's mental health. Our educational efforts aim to increase awareness and understanding of emotional, behavioral, and mental disorders affecting children and youth.
4. Policy Development: We work to develop and improve policies that impact children and youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental disorders and their families. Our policy efforts focus on ensuring that children and youth receive the necessary supports and services to thrive.
5. Newsletter: We publish a newsletter that provides updates on our activities, upcoming events, and important information related to children's mental health. The newsletter is available to our members and is a great way to stay informed about what's happening in the field of children's mental health.
6. Membership: We offer membership opportunities for families, professionals, and community members who want to be part of our efforts to improve the lives of children and youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental disorders and their families. Members receive access to our newsletter, invitations to events, and opportunities to participate in our advocacy efforts.
7. Youth Move BeyoND: We participate in the Youth Move BeyoND initiative, which is a national youth-led organization that focuses on improving the lives of young people with serious emotional disorders. Youth Move BeyoND provides leadership opportunities, peer support, and advocacy for young people who want to make a difference in their communities.
