Our mission is to equip children with life-saving swim skills and build confidence in and around water. Situated in the heart of Magnolia and Queen Anne, we provide a nurturing and secure environment for children aged 2.5 to 12 to learn and thrive.

Our passionate and highly-trained swim instructors are committed to guiding each child's progress at their own pace. We understand that every child learns differently, and our instructors tailor their approach to meet the unique needs of each student. This personalized attention ensures a positive and effective learning experience.
Meet Sam Sandquist
Meet Sam Sandquist, the enthusiastic founder and driving force behind SSA. With over 20 years of experience in the aquatics world, Sam's passion for swimming is contagious. His dedication to coaching stretches beyond the pool deck, as he has also coached various soccer teams and sports camps. Originally from California, Sam's love of swimming has followed him throughout his life, even after relocating to the Pacific Northwest 15 years ago. When he's not at SSA, you might find him chasing waves along the Oregon coast or exploring the shores of Mexico.
Flexible Learning Options
We offer a variety of learning options to meet your needs. All lessons are private or semi-private, allowing you to choose the number of students in each session, creating a personalized learning environment. You can reserve a 30-minute slot and use it as you see fit. While we recommend a maximum of two students, we can accommodate up to three if they are at similar skill levels. Our summer schedule features two-week intensive programs (four days a week - Monday through Thursday), rather than once-per-week classes.
A Commitment to Safety and Equity
At SSA, we believe that everyone deserves access to safe and quality swimming instruction. We are proud to partner with No More Under, a local non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives through water safety education, legislation, and increasing access to swimming lessons for all. Through this partnership, we are working to provide swim lessons to children and adults who might not otherwise have the opportunity
