About Us

Talktime Speech Therapy was founded in 2007 by Amy Shope, a Speech-Language Pathologist, with the goal of providing direct speech and language services to children in the area. As the demand for quality SLP services grew, Amy expanded the office, resources, and staff. Today, our continually growing team of experienced and certified SLPs, OTs, Reading Therapists, and Music Therapists each bring a slightly different background, allowing us to collaborate on treatment plans and procedures to provide the best possible care.

Amy Shope, Speech-Language Pathologist, MA CCC-SLP/L, President

Amy received her Bachelor of Science Degree with honors in Communication Disorders from Pennsylvania State University. She then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Michigan State University where she graduated with Highest Distinction and Honors. After graduating from Michigan State University, Amy worked with children of all ages in a variety of settings. Before founding Talktime Speech Therapy in 2007, Amy worked in the public school system in Holly, Michigan servicing elementary students in regular education with speech and language impairments, as well as students with emotional disorders and mental retardation. After moving back to Pennsylvania in 2000, Amy began working for Midwestern Intermediate Unit 4 where she serviced children with speech, language and dysphagia (i.e, swallowing) needs related to severe speech and language impairments.
