Welcome to Maui Acupuncture with Wendy! I'm Wendy Ruppenthal, LAc, LMT, a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist with two decades of clinical experience. My journey to becoming a practitioner began when I discovered the healing power of natural medicine while facing a prolonged illness. I then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in contemplative psychology and later a master's degree in Oriental medicine.

I started my private practice on Maui's North Shore in 2005 and have been dedicated to helping my clients feel their best and maintain a healthy, active lifestyle. My approach blends the ancient wisdom and methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern anatomy, assessment techniques, and sports medicine science.

At Maui Acupuncture with Wendy, I offer a range of services designed to address both physical and energetic issues. These services include:

Sports Acupuncture: A unique blend of Traditional Chinese Medicine and sports medicine science, tailored to meet the specific needs of athletes and individuals engaging in athletic activities.

Massage: Every massage is tailored to each individual, using a variety of techniques, including deep tissue, lomi lomi, Swedish, hot stone pohaku, shiatsu, Thai, and backwalk.

Energy Work: I use Reiki, Healing Touch, and Intuitive Medicine techniques to help clients address energetic misalignments and heal the root cause of injury and pain.

About Me

As a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients, from athletes to individuals seeking relaxation and stress relief. My unique approach combines a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology with the ancient wisdom and methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I am dedicated to providing each client with a personalized treatment plan that addresses their unique needs and goals.

Education and Credentials

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to study with world-renowned experts in the field of alternative medicine. My education includes a bachelor's degree in contemplative psychology, a master's degree in Oriental medicine, and certifications in intuitive medicine, sports acupuncture, and energy healing.

I have also had the privilege of working at the Four Seasons Resort Maui, where I helped launch the spa's acupuncture program and developed a series of therapeutic massage treatments. In addition to my private practice, I have assisted Whitfield Reaves OMD, LAc in his Acupuncture Sports Medicine Education Programs in Hawaii.
