San Joaquin Glass was founded by Harvey McKenry, Jack Kilner & Joe Strowsnider in February of 1947. Originally located at 618 N Street in Downtown Fresno, they relocated to the current location in November of 1965 to make way for the Fresno Convention Center. Mr. Strowsnider retired in the early 1950's and Mr. Kilner retired in the early 70's. In 1976, along with Harvey McKenry, Robert Starr and Steve Salcedo became the new partners of San Joaquin Glass. In 1978, a second location in Merced was opened. It would eventually be sold to two employees to run as a separate company. In 1979, Steve and Bob opened Insulated Glass of Fresno by the Fresno Airport. This operation was one of the first of its kind to produce insulated glass units. this operation would eventually transition into San Joaquin Glass. In 1980, Mr. McKenry retired and Steve and Bob became the owners of San Joaquin Glass.
