Grundy County Rural Electric Cooperative

Grundy County Rural Electric Cooperative has been dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, and affordable electric service to rural families, farms, and industries across Grundy, Black Hawk, Marshall, Tama, Butler, and Hardin Counties for decades. Our cooperative operates 915 miles of distribution lines, supported by nine substations owned by Corn Belt Power Cooperative, ensuring consistent energy availability. With a team of 12 employees and a seven-member board of directors elected by member-owners, we prioritize community needs through programs like energy assistance, scholarships, and youth tours. Our commitment to innovation is evident in initiatives such as renewable energy partnerships, smart energy choices, and electric vehicle programs. We maintain transparency through annual meetings, patronage refunds, and clear energy bill explanations, fostering trust and accountability.

Our 24/7 outage reporting system and safety resources, including electrical safety checklists and quizzes, underscore our dedication to member well-being. Partnering with Touchstone Energy and adhering to the Seven Cooperative Principles, we combine local expertise with national standards to meet evolving energy demands. Our economic development efforts, including industrial park support and loan funds, further strengthen the communities we serve.
