"Empowering Dance, Enriching Lives" - Center for the Performing Arts
At Center for the Performing Arts, our mission is to offer the absolute best dance instruction available for all ages, with qualified, seasoned teachers, in a warm, non-competitive setting. Our studio offers 4 classrooms, each with professional sprung dance floors. We also offer viewing windows so parents can watch their child's class in progress. Students are placed into classes with other dancers their age and school grade, so they can dance with their friends. Parents can make the decisions on what classes and how many days per week they want their child to train. Whether you have a toddler expressing interest in dance, a high school student looking for intense training to prepare for college dance intensives, or you are an adult who always wanted to learn to dance, we have a class and program for you! Center for the Performing Arts welcomes visitors to our studio, and we would love the opportunity to share our programs, philosophy and non-competitive nurturing environment with you. National Honor Society for Dance Arts
Center for the Performing Arts is an official member of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA). The NHSDA is a program of the National Dance Education Organization, created to recognize outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in students studying dance. CPA's Secondary Chapter is for students in grades 9-12. The goals of the program are to create a lifelong learning in the field of dance, to encourage an understanding of, and appreciation for dance as an art form and to identify honor students for nomination to the NDEO Artistic Merit Leadership and Academic Achievement Award. This is one of the highest honor programs for dance in the United States. To be eligible for this program, students must complete 30 points of eligible dance activities and maintain a GPA of 3.0. Students do NOT need to be a member of Center for the Performing Arts to complete the NHSDA. For more information, please contact our CPA Chapter Sponsor, Meghan O'Donnell - Meghan@cpadance.com.
