River City Hardwoods, Inc. was founded in 1995 by Patrick T. Mealy and John T. Peters with a mission to provide the highest quality hardwood lumber and lumber products at competitive prices, consistently exceeding customer expectations. Today, the company is a leading provider of thick stock hardwoods, including soft maple, walnut, cherry, white hard maple, and red and white oak. With an annual production of over five million board feet of northern hardwoods, River City Hardwoods offers a wide range of products such as green and kiln-dried wholesale lumber, kiln-dried local distribution lumber, wholesale chips, sawdust, and mulch, as well as retail kiln-dried lumber and mulch.

The company operates three Vacutherm vacuum kilns, designed to dry lumber producing the highest quality in color, flatness, and stability. In 2006, River City built a new 25,000 square foot facility showcasing the highest quality in sawmill machinery, allowing for the highest yield and quality. In addition to national and international wholesale lumber, River City distributes furniture and cabinet-grade lumber and hardwood plywood to local millwork, cabinet, door, and furniture companies, as well as chips, mulch, and sawdust to local consumers.

River City Hardwoods is a Certified Member of the National Hardwood Lumber Association and Lake States Lumber Association.
