The Gold Mine

Our family founded The Gold Mine in April 1983 with a vision to provide honest jewelry sales, repairs, and collateral loans to the Chelsea community. Founders Salvatore and Lorraine Vaccaro partnered with industry veteran Zaven Carsajian to open a modest 300squarefoot showroom featuring two jewelry cases. Over the ensuing decades we expanded our premises to a 2,000squarefoot showroom with twenty display cases and a dedicated jewelry workshop. Today our team includes four fulltime salespeople, two parttime salespeople, and a fulltime master jeweler who handles all repairs on site. We specialize in purchasing gold, platinum, silver, diamonds, gemstone jewelry, and fine watches, offering the highest prices on the North Shore. Our collateral loan program provides discreet, sameday cash loans ranging from $20 to $10,000, using jewelry or watches as security.

All appraisals are performed on the spot by experienced appraisers with over thirty years of industry expertise. We maintain a Thermo Scientific Niton DXL Xray analyzer to guarantee precise metal purity testing for every item we evaluate. Customers can take advantage of our layaway plan, requiring only a 10% down payment to hold an item for up to one year without interest or fees. Through our affiliation with the Diamond Dealers Network we offer GIAcertified diamonds at rockbottom prices, accompanied by full grading reports.
