Our Story

At Prater's Pharmacy, our roots run deep in the community. We began as a small operation driven by dedication and a passion for providing personalized patient care. Founded in 1980 by Jerry Prater, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma School of Pharmacy, Prater's Pharmacy quickly gained a reputation for its unwavering commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and compassion. Jerry's vision was to create a pharmacy where individuals felt valued, understood, and empowered to take control of their health.

A Legacy of Care

Jerry's untimely passing in 1987 presented a significant challenge. However, his wife, Pam, steely resolve and unwavering dedication to their shared dream kept the pharmacy's doors open. Pam steered Prater's Pharmacy through numerous changes and expansions, always prioritizing the needs of their patients. In 1998, their dream of opening a larger facility with a drive-through window became a reality under Pam's leadership. This expansion symbolized the growing trust and reliance the community placed in Prater's Pharmacy.

Family Values, Proven Expertise

Today, Prater's Pharmacy continues the tradition of excellence established by Jerry and Pam. Their daughter, Lacey, a Certified Pharmacy Technician, joined the team in 2004, bringing fresh energy and expertise to the operation. Lacey's involvement, coupled with her commitment to training future pharmacy technicians at Crowder College, demonstrates Prater's Pharmacy's dedication to community growth and nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
