Settlement Preschool

For over 35 years, The Settlement Preschool & Kindergarten has been dedicated to providing a nurturing and educational environment for children from 18 months to 5th grade. Our state-certified childcare and Tennessee Department of Education certified kindergarten program is designed to ensure that each child reaches their full potential.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide the best in early childhood education and childcare services to our enrolled children. We understand that parents need to feel confident that their children are safe and happy in their daily environment. We strive to create a developmentally appropriate environment that fosters learning and growth.

Programs and Services

We offer a range of programs and services to cater to children of all ages. Our preschool and pre-kindergarten programs are designed to be age-appropriate, with a focus on group social skills, academic concepts, creative thinking, and problem-solving. Our kindergarten program is designed to prepare children for elementary school and beyond.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to meet the individual needs of each child, with a focus on positive reinforcement and hands-on learning. We believe in the importance of one-on-one instruction, small class sizes, and technology integration. Our kindergarten program uses a comprehensive curriculum that includes reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.

Safety and Security

At The Settlement Preschool & Kindergarten, we take the safety and security of our children very seriously. Our comprehensive safety policies are available for review at any time in our office. We believe in creating a safe and secure environment that allows children to feel comfortable and confident.

Summer Camp

We offer a summer camp program for children in kindergarten to 5th grade. Our summer camp program includes meals, field trips, swimming, and special events. The cost is $175 per week.

Kindergarten Program

Our kindergarten program is Tennessee Department of Education certified and taught by licensed and certified teachers. Our kindergarten classes are small, with a maximum of 14 students, and include one-on-one instruction with a teacher. We use iPad and smart board technology to enhance learning and provide before and after school care at no additional cost.

About Our Staff

Our staff has worked together for many years and has an average of over 10 years of experience in childcare. Most of our staff members have been with The Settlement for over 10 years, and our lead teachers and director have extensive experience in early childhood education.

Our History

The Settlement Preschool & Kindergarten was established in 1986 and has been nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 1996. We are proud to be Montgomery County, Tennessee's first nationally accredited childcare facility.
