At SmartWay Preschool, we believe that every child deserves a safe, nourishing, and enriching environment to build their social, emotional, and cognitive skills. This is why we are dedicated to providing your child with the best possible education and care.

Our top priority is to create a space where your child can develop their creativity, well-being, social confidence, and language and reading skills. We use a specially developed pre-school curriculum based on Montessori learning standards to ensure that your child is equipped to enter the real world successfully.

Why Montessori?

Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian educator, developed the Montessori method. This method is based on the idea that children create their sense of self by interacting with their environment. A Montessori environment is always led by a qualified teacher who develops a space and curriculum that follows this pedagogy and ideology.

A Montessori environment is not about unsupervised, unruly chaos where children decide to do whatever they please. Instead, it is a carefully constructed space that allows children to 'freely' decide their next activity within the limits of the room. A trained Montessori teacher creates an environment that optimizes the development of all the children in their care, based on the interests of each child themselves as well as what toys, games, books, and activities are relevant to the age of the developing children.

Why SmartWay?

Our school was built on 20 years of experience in teaching and a deep understanding of the Montessori method. Our director, Thanuja Atapattu, has spent 15 years teaching at a private school in Sri Lanka and 5 years working as a lead teacher at a Montessori school in California.

SmartWay Preschool is dedicated to providing for your child an environment where they can learn, grow, and develop the necessary skills to be a confident individual later in life. We believe that education should provide an open environment that young children can use to facilitate their own development in all areas.

Our Services

At SmartWay Preschool, we offer a variety of services to cater to the needs of your child. We are open Monday to Friday from 6.00 AM to 6.00 PM. We also provide special weekend and evening rates for parents who require them. We serve families with children between New Born to School Age and provide healthy home-made meals and snacks.

Daily Schedule

Our daily schedule is carefully planned to ensure that your child gets the most out of their day. It includes early arrival, indoor play, breakfast, outdoor play, snack, circle time/music and movements/academic/art and craft, lunch, nap time, snack, story time/PM activities, outdoor play, and indoor play.
