Our Story

Our journey began in 1998, when our founder, Alex Martin, started planning events for nonprofit organizations. With a background in performing arts, Alex was drawn to the creativity and collaboration involved in event planning. Over the years, we've grown into a team of dedicated professionals who share a passion for helping mission-based organizations create successful and meaningful events.

• Alex Martin, Owner & Event Strategy Lead

With a background in performing arts, Alex is outrageously creative, shockingly practical, and devoted to collaboration. She's been planning events for nonprofit organizations since 1998 and continues to find delight and inspiration in her work every day. If she were a spice, she might be smoked paprika; earthy and surprising at the same time.

• Meera Bhardwaj, Event Producer & Strategy Lead

Meera enjoys spending time with Synchronicity clients, capturing and articulating their visions. She's so proud and happy when Synchronicity clients exceed their previous fundraising! Meera came to event planning out of a career in political campaigns and organizing. She has made it 77% of the way through cooking all the recipes in Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi's cookbook Jerusalem. Spreadsheet wizard, sharp wit, not afraid to talk technology or politics. As a spice, she would definitely be cardamom.
