Brandywine Learning Center

The Brandywine Learning Center (BLC) was established in March 2003 with the mission to inspire learners. Founded by educator and owner, Gina DiGiacomo, BLC approaches each child as an individual with a unique set of learning strengths, needs, and interests. Our dedicated staff is committed to assisting every child in achieving their goals, going beyond just teaching academic subjects. We teach life skills, success, and a passion for learning.

Our educational philosophy is heartfelt. We believe that every student should be approached as a whole, creating a triangle of success among students, their classroom teachers, and parents. We spend multiple hours preparing, communicating with teachers and parents, working with guidance counselors, creating materials, collecting books, studying IEPs, report cards, and SAT results. Our ultimate goal is to inspire a passion for learning in every student.

Our initial consultation will map out what your student needs to achieve their goals academically. We provide custom academic tutoring tailored to your child's needs, discussing student goals, after-school activities, preferred tutoring locations, days, and times during our first meeting. This custom approach allows us to match your child with the right tutor, ensuring a positive and productive tutoring experience.

• College and Career Prep: Our college counseling services aim to walk you through the college application process with a personalized timeline that works for your student. We offer one-on-one help with the admissions essays, providing valuable feedback and guidance to help your student stand out in the competitive college admissions landscape.
• SAT & ACT Prep: We offer diagnostic testing, classes, and one-on-one tutoring to help your student prepare for the SAT and ACT. Our proven teaching methods and experienced instructors help students maximize their test scores, increasing their chances of being accepted into their dream colleges.
• Math Classes with Dan Essex: Led by our esteemed math instructor, Dan Essex, these classes focus on building a strong foundation in mathematics. Students will develop a deep understanding of confusing concepts and learn strategies to excel in future math classes.
• Writing Classes: Our writing classes help students improve their writing skills, grammar, and vocabulary. Students learn to express their thoughts clearly and effectively, making them better communicators in both academic and professional settings.

Addressing the Summer Slide

Math can be hard to remember, and the summer slide can significantly impact a student's academic performance. To help students keep their math skills sharp during the summer, BLC offers summer math classes for Algebra I, Algebra 2, and Geometry. These classes prevent the summer slide, improve understanding of challenging concepts, and jumpstart next year's math success.
