Established in 1967 as "Wilton Dufrene, Land Surveyor, " Dufrene Surveying & Engineering, Inc. has been a trusted, family-owned business for over 50 years. In 1983, Engineering was added to our services when Tildon (Jay) Dufrene Jr., PE, PLS (Wilton's nephew) left the Corps of Engineers to start practicing in the private sector.

Our registered Land Surveyors have a combined experience of over 100 years, all in Louisiana. Combining that with our entire technical staff, DSE provides well over 200 years of experience. Being strong advocates for the advancement of the Surveying Profession, both Wilton and Jay served as past presidents of the Louisiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors. DSE's professionals are members of ACSM, NSPS, ASCE, LES, and LSPS.

Our Services

At Dufrene Surveying & Engineering, we provide a wide variety of engineering and coordination services necessary to complete your project. Our services include project coordination, civil engineering, land development, and surveying.

Our project coordination services involve coordinating between many entities such as various parish offices, developers, and contractors. We have the experience to coordinate this effort by submitting necessary permits and fielding questions from the various entities.

In civil engineering, we specialize in drainage design for commercial developments, site design for commercial developments, sewer plans, and paving plans. We understand the importance of a well-designed site that includes necessary drainage, efficient site grading, and adequate sewer systems.

For land development, we provide land surveying and civil engineering services necessary to transform vacant land into developed lots. This includes boundary surveys, topographic surveys, resubdivision plans, preparation of necessary ordinances and applications, preparation of civil engineering plans, coordination of approval of the engineering plans, and more.

Lastly, our surveying services include providing professional surveying services on a variety of projects and applications. We can provide a "No Work" Affidavit, a Builder's Package, and other survey services such as boundary surveys, construction benchmarks, elevation surveys, and finished construction elevation certificates.
