Empowering Well-being through Tai Chi and Meditation
The Human Process is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to teaching Tai Chi, Qigong, and Meditation trainings in Chicago and Evanston since 1974. Our mission is to promote well-being, compassion, and awareness for the benefit of all. Our team of instructors, trained and certified by the Tai Chi Foundation, offers classes that emphasize the principles of relaxation, balance, and root. We welcome everyone to join our unique style of teaching and community, and we invite you to experience a free introductory class to see if our programs resonate with you.
Our History
We have been teaching meditation programs in the greater Chicago area since 1974. In 1983, we added the work of Professor Cheng Man Ching and Tai Chi Chuan to our curriculum. Our community has grown over the years, and today, we are composed of over 250 instructors teaching Tai Chi classes in 30 cities around the world. We have been offering Tai Chi and Meditation programs in the Evanston area since 2005. Our practices are designed to help us lead healthier and happier lives.
Tai Chi
Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese martial art that promotes well-being by circulating the chi of the body through a series of slow, relaxing movements. We teach the Yang-style short form as developed by Cheng Man Ching. Practicing Tai Chi helps replenish energy reserves, improves balance, loosens tight muscles, and brings more flexibility to joints and ligaments. It is a cardiovascular and weight-bearing exercise that leaves one feeling more relaxed, calm, and in a pleasant mood.
