At Acumen Tutoring, we are dedicated to helping students excel in the fields of math, physical science, and computer science. Our experienced tutor, John Deubert, has been assisting students of all levels since 2013. With a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of complex subjects, John is committed to providing individualized enrichment and support to his students.

Our Services

At Acumen Tutoring, we offer assistance and enrichment in all math and physical sciences, from prealgebra to AP Calculus, and from 6th grade science to AP Physics and Chemistry. Whether you need help acquiring grade-level skills or want to gain a deeper understanding of the material, we are here to help. Our services cater to middle- and upper-school students, including those who need help with:

• Middle- and upper-school math, including prealgebra, algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, and more
• Physical science, including 7th- and 8th-grade science, AP chemistry, conceptual physics, and more
• Computer science, including Java programming and AP computer science

Our Approach

At Acumen Tutoring, we believe that every student learns differently. That's why we tailor our approach to each student's unique needs and learning style. Our sessions are designed to be engaging, informative, and fun. Whether you need help with homework, test preparation, or simply want to grasp a complex concept, we are here to support you.

Our Expertise

John Deubert, our experienced tutor, has a background in teaching and tutoring middle- and high-school students, as well as teaching technical classes to engineers at companies such as Xerox and Hewlett Packard. With over 8 years of experience, John has developed a unique understanding of complex subjects and has a passion for sharing his knowledge with students.

Our Fees

Our tutoring sessions are charged by the hour, with rates starting at $80.00 per hour for sessions booked 10 hours in advance, and $90.00 per hour for sessions booked 4 hours in advance. We also offer the option to pay per hour at a rate of $100.00 per hour. Payments can be made by check, cash, Venmo, or Zelle.
