Fred Gambino's Work

Fred Gambino is a renowned artist in the science fiction community, and his work has been featured in numerous publications and projects. Fred's career as an illustrator began after he was inspired by an exhibition of Chris Foss' work in 1977. He started with oils after college, then switched to acrylic in the early 1980s, using traditional airbrush techniques. When it became physically impossible to do more work in the hours available, he decided that computers were the answer. He became an artist at the forefront of the first generation to exploit computer techniques, and most of his illustrative work is now produced solely on the computer.
