Our History

Our story began in the early 1970s with the establishment of Milton's Pizza in Virginia Beach. The Mechanicsville location opened its doors in September 1980, specializing in pizzas, hot subs, and pasta dishes. In 1983, the restaurant was rebranded as Gus' Pizza, and Scott Stout acquired the business in 1987, maintaining the original pizza recipe and adding his own culinary touches.

In 1991, Scott and his wife Lisa expanded the restaurant to its current location in Hanover Square Shopping Center. They then acquired the adjoining space, transforming it into the dynamic sports bar that has become a hallmark of Gus' today.

Over 30 years since the Stouts took over, Gus' Italian Cafe remains a thriving testament to their dedication to quality, service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for families and friends.
