Our Humble Beginnings

Honea Egypt Self Storage is a product of growth, dedication, and a commitment to serving the Montgomery County community. Ken and Faye Milstead embarked on their entrepreneurial journey in 1987, founding Milstead Glass to cater to the burgeoning population of the region. Their philosophy was simple yet profound: prioritize customer satisfaction above all else. This unwavering dedication to their customers formed the bedrock of Milstead Glass's success. Over the years, the company flourished, expanding its footprint while never compromising on its core values of personalized service and excellence.

Diversifying our Services

In 2006, Milstead Glass ventured into the self-storage industry, recognizing a growing need for secure and reliable storage solutions in the area. Honea Egypt Storage, their inaugural self-storage facility, marked the beginning of their journey into this new realm. Building on this success, they opened a second self-storage facility on FM 1488, further solidifying their presence in the market.

The company's unwavering commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction led to the development of even more comprehensive self-storage facilities. In 2008, McCaleb Rd. Storage I was built, followed by McCaleb Rd. Storage II & Office Warehouse in 2012. These new facilities ushered in an era of enhanced amenities and features, exceeding the standards of traditional storage units.

These modern facilities boasted a wide array of amenities, including advanced security systems, climate-controlled units, office warehouses, wash bays, and dedicated dumping stations. Wide drive aisles, spacious parking areas, and dedicated indoor and outdoor spaces for boats and RVs provided customers with added convenience and peace of mind.

Honea Egypt Self Storage: A New Benchmark

In 2016, Milstead invested in the construction of Honea Egypt Self Storage, a state-of-the-art, three-storied climate-controlled facility. This facility stands as a testament to their commitment to providing the highest quality storage solutions. Featuring gated access with key code entry, 24-hour monitored security surveillance, and an on-site office manager, Honea Egypt Self Storage redefined the storage experience. Customers further benefited from the convenience of purchasing moving and storage supplies directly from the office.

While glass and home decor remain the core of Milstead's business, self-storage and billboards have evolved into significant pillars of their operation. Billboards, strategically placed throughout the region, extend their reach and contribute to their overall business success.
