Legal Services of Northern Michigan (LSNM) stands as a beacon of justice for those who struggle to navigate the complexities of the legal system. Established in 1966, we bridge the justice gap in Northern Michigan by providing free, high-quality legal advice and representation to eligible clients facing a wide range of civil legal challenges. For over 50 years, we've been a steadfast advocate for low-income individuals and marginalized communities, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, has access to essential legal assistance.

Serving Northern Michigan

With six offices strategically located across 36 counties in Northern Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, we are dedicated to reaching every corner of our region. Our team of 15 experienced and dedicated lawyers, alongside a dedicated support staff, is committed to understanding the unique needs of our diverse clientele. We serve individuals and families grappling with a multitude of legal issues, from consumer protection and housing disputes to family law matters and government benefits access.

We work closely with our funders, board of directors, and client community to ensure that our services align with the most urgent needs in our region.
