At Pine Ridge Grocery, we pride ourselves on providing good food and a delightful shopping experience with the friendliest service. Our store carries a wide variety of unique and hard-to-find items, ranging from old-fashioned candies to quality Amish-made crafts. We also carry a full range of baking and cooking supplies, including a wide selection of high-quality spices, flours, sugars, and other staples. Our deli features many different varieties of meat and cheese, including rare items such as liverwurst and Lebanon Bolognas. You'll also find a large selection of traditional Amish-style canned goods.

Our History

Pine Ridge Grocery was founded in November 1995 by Steve and Rhoda Kauffman, who had previously founded and operated a similar market in Pennsylvania. After spending several years farming in Madison County, NY, the Kauffmans decided to pursue their dream of starting a bulk food store. The store opened in February 1996 with a retail area of just over 1200 sq ft. The Kauffmans' commitment to business and their faith quickly made the store a beloved fixture in the community, known for its unique, small-town feel and friendly atmosphere. Customers were drawn in by excellent prices on quality, Lancaster-Dutch deli meats, as well as many hard-to-find candies, baking supplies, and spices.

In the spring of 1999, the Kauffmans were asked by their local church to move to Pennsylvania to assist a burgeoning church. They sold the store to some friends of theirs, Jim and Brenda Walters. The Walters maintained the family-centered business, expanding the retail area in 2003 to over 1900 sq ft. This expanded space allowed the Walters to offer a larger selection of candy, baking supplies, and home decor items.

At the end of 2005, the business again changed hands and was purchased by Michael and Lydianne Kauffman, who had spent several years in construction, building gazebos and outdoor furniture. The Kauffmans' business experience, coupled with the values of their Amish and Mennonite heritage, caused the business to flourish. Mike and Lyd were joined by their children, who helped to run the store and maintain the family atmosphere that had become a hallmark of Pine Ridge Grocery.
