Transforming wood into masterpieces that bring joy to your life
A Legacy of Agriculture and Heritage
Nestled in the heart of Seguin, Texas, the Texas Agricultural Education & Heritage Center, affectionately known as The Big Red Barn, stands as a testament to the rich history and significance of agriculture in our society. Founded in 2003, this non-profit organization serves as a vibrant hub for learning, exploration, and appreciation of the vital role agriculture has played and continues to play in our lives.
Connecting with Roots
Our story begins with the land itself. Located on a historic working farm in Guadalupe County, dating back to the 1850s, The Big Red Barn stands on land generously donated by fifth-generation farmers, Wilfred and Betty Bartoskewitz. This connection to the land and its agricultural heritage forms the foundation of our mission.
Learning and Exploring
Step through our doors and be transported into a world of discovery. Interactive exhibits, engaging displays, and knowledgeable staff bring the stories of agriculture to life. Visitors of all ages can:
- Explore the rich history of farming and ranching in Texas through engaging displays and artifacts.
