Moving Families Forward: Our Mission
At Sarasota Collaborative Family Law Professionals (SCFLP), we are dedicated to helping families move forward during the divorce process. Our team of experienced professionals is committed to the collaborative process, which allows all parties and respective attorneys to work together to reach an efficient, fair, and comprehensive settlement of all issues in a non-adversarial manner. We believe that resolution without litigation is possible, and we are here to guide you through the process with respect, integrity, and a focus on the unique needs of your family.
Our Services: Collaborative Law
Collaborative law is a process whereby parties and their respective attorneys work together with the sole goal of reaching an efficient, fair, and comprehensive settlement of all issues. Our team of professionals assists and supports the parties as problem-solvers, not as adversaries. We believe that this approach leads to a more peaceful and early resolution of disputes, preserving the working relationship between the parties and reducing the emotional and financial toll of litigation.
The Florida Legislature enacted the Collaborative Law Process Act in 2017, which established a uniform system of practice for collaborative family law cases. At SCFLP, we fully embrace the policy goals of this act, which encourage peaceful and early resolutions of disputes in a non-adversarial manner. Our team is committed to creating an atmosphere of honesty, cooperation, integrity, transparency, and professionalism, in which both parties can work together to find solutions that meet their individual and shared goals.
The collaborative process is based on three key elements: a voluntary and open exchange of information between the parties, a pledge by the team to reach an out-of-court settlement and not to litigate, and a commitment to respect the parties' individual and shared goals. We believe that these elements are essential to achieving a successful outcome in any collaborative law case.
Our Team: Experienced and Qualified Professionals
At SCFLP, all members of our team have extensive experience in the area of family law. We are committed to the collaborative process, and we work together to reach a settlement on fair and equitable terms without the financial and emotional cost that often accompanies litigation. All members of our team are licensed by their respective designated professional organization and have been individually selected for their expertise and commitment to the collaborative process.
Our team includes legal experts, financial neutrals, and neutral facilitators. Our attorneys serve as client advocates and work with the team to thoroughly address and resolve all family disputes. Our financial experts assist in gathering and analyzing financial information, and provide neutral financial advice to both parties. Our neutral facilitators guide the process and help the parties address parenting plans and family restructuring.
Why Choose Collaborative Divorce?
Divorce can be a difficult and emotional experience for all parties involved, but it doesn't have to be. At SCFLP, we believe that collaborative divorce is a better way. Collaborative divorce allows couples to create a customized plan that meets the needs of everyone involved, without the financial and emotional cost of litigation. Ten years from now, how will your children tell the story of your divorce? With collaborative divorce, families can move forward in a peaceful and respectful manner.
There are many reasons to consider collaborative divorce. First and foremost, it allows for a more peaceful and respectful resolution of disputes. This leads to a more positive outcome for all parties involved, especially children. Collaborative divorce also allows couples to create a customized plan that meets their unique needs and circumstances. This can include issues related to child custody, child support, alimony, and property division.
Collaborative divorce is also typically faster and less expensive than litigation. With collaborative divorce, couples can avoid the lengthy court process and the high legal fees that often accompany it. Collaborative divorce also allows couples to maintain control over the outcome of their case, rather than leaving it in the hands of a judge.
At SCFLP, we are committed to helping families move forward. We believe that collaborative divorce is a better way, and we are here to support and guide you every step of the way.
