Westport Counseling Associates

Westport Counseling Associates is a faith-based counseling agency that has been proudly serving the greater Kansas City area since 1991. Our mission is to provide compassionate, in-home therapy services (virtually or in person) for children in foster care, or families in crisis whose children have been placed into state custody. We are committed to the reunification of the family and specialize in trauma-informed intervention for attachment issues, depression, anxiety, family violence, drug and alcohol addiction, and grief.

Our Services

At Westport Counseling Associates, we offer a wide range of services to meet the unique needs of our clients. Our diversified staff provides a full array of services to individuals, couples, and families. Our sessions are offered weekly both in the home and office setting, with off-hour appointments available to accommodate the client's needs.

Counseling Services

Our team of licensed professional counselors (LPCs, PLPCs, or LCSWs) provides counseling services to help clients deal with a wide variety of issues. These services include therapy for depression, stress management, sexual abuse issues, grief, addiction, co-dependency, marital conflict, family problems, parenting education, childhood disorders, women's issues, domestic violence, play therapy, and teen issues.

Parent Aide Services

Westport Counseling Associates also offers parent aide services to assist parents and children in the community. Our parent aides are dedicated to serving the needs of parents and children for the purpose of reunification, to assist with building healthy relationships and with the goal of reaching an acceptable level of family functioning. The duties of the parent aides include assisting parents by linking them to community resources as needed, providing transportation and oversight for supervised visits, making observations of parent-child interactions and providing helpful coaching and feedback, providing short-term, outcome-focused, teaching and modeling services to families, and assisting parent(s) in the development of parenting and homemaking skills.

Our administrative leaders play a vital role in the support of Westport Counseling Associates. They include our Clinical Director, Administrative Assistant, and Chief Executive Officer of Christian Family Services.

Each staff member at Westport Counseling Associates belongs to the professional association appropriate to his or her specialty. These associations include the American Mental Health Counseling Association, American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, National Association of Social Workers, and National Association for Certified Counseling.
