Our Story

It all began when Glen Johnstone had a vision to open a service station back in 1947. After two years of dedicated construction work, Glen's Tire finally came to life in Mora, Minnesota, on the south side of Highway 23 in 1949. Initially, the station offered two primary services: tire sales and gasoline. With a gallon of gasoline costing a mere 23 cents, it was a time of great change and opportunity. By 1951, the focus shifted to vulcanizing and retreading tires, highlighting Glen's commitment to providing essential automotive maintenance.

Over the years, Glen's Tire expanded its offerings to encompass a wide range of tires, from new and used passenger tires to truck and tractor tires. This growth was fueled by a commitment to meeting the evolving needs of their community. Additionally, they introduced the convenient "on-the-farm" service, bringing tire repair and maintenance directly to customers. In 1953, as Highway 23 widened, Glen's Tire built a new building across the street on the north side, which still stands today. This cornerstone location continues to serve the community under the skilled leadership of Glen's son, Dave, and his wife, Pam.
