The name Socias (so-see-uz) is a Spanish noun meaning "female members, partners, or associates." Our founder, Maureen, spent seven formative years living as a missionary in Costa Rica, where she learned Spanish and was inspired by the culture. She wanted to bring a little bit of that "toque" back home, and thus, Socias Salon was born. Our name is a testament to the strong bonds and camaraderie between Maureen and her fellow colleagues.
