Student Transportation of America (STA) was founded in 1997 on the principle of a safety-driven, family-oriented business plan. Over the years, our commitment to this principle has allowed us to grow and expand our services to meet the evolving needs of our communities and customers. From our humble beginnings to our current status as a leading provider of student transportation services, we have consistently demonstrated our commitment to safety, reliability, and community engagement.

Our journey began in 1997, when we started operating with just a few vehicles. However, it wasn't long before we started expanding our operations and growing our fleet. By 2004, we had already grown to operate over 3,300 vehicles across 10 states and had listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. This growth was a testament to our hard work and dedication to providing high-quality transportation services to our customers.

In 2006, we took another significant step forward by establishing Student Transportation of Canada (STC). This expansion allowed us to extend our services to even more communities and further solidify our position as a leader in the student transportation industry.

By 2011, we had grown to operate over 7,300 vehicles across 12 states and had listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. This rapid growth was not only a reflection of our success but also our commitment to continuously improving and expanding our services to meet the needs of our customers.

Throughout our history, we have been recognized for our commitment to safety and sustainability. In 2013, we were awarded the Sustainability All-Star Award for our leadership in running alternative fuel and low-emission vehicles. This award was a testament to our commitment to not only providing safe transportation services but also to doing our part to protect the environment.

In 2018, we rejoined the private sector as Student Transportation of America Inc. (STA), led by our senior management team and largest and longest-tenured shareholder, CDPQ. This transition has allowed us to focus even more on our core values of safety, reliability, and community engagement.

Today, we operate over 22,000 vehicles across more than 325 districts in North America. We have a 95% contract renewal rate, which is a testament to our commitment to providing high-quality transportation services to our customers. We continue to innovate and expand our services to meet the evolving needs of our communities and customers.

Our Services
