Empowering Struggling Readers to Succeed

The Appalachian Reading Center, Inc. is a non-profit tutoring center dedicated to helping struggling readers of every age and income level. Founded in 2004, our mission is to improve the reading skills of the people of Appalachia by providing one-to-one and small group instruction using structured language approaches. We are committed to providing coaching services to parents who are homeschooling their children and training for educators and parents on how to best implement structured language approaches.

Our Services

We offer a range of services including screening and assessment, individual and small group tutoring, and partial scholarships for students in need. Our tutors are experienced and dedicated professionals who work closely with each student to develop personalized learning plans. We also provide training for educators and parents on structured language approaches.

Program Details

Our program is designed to cater to students with language-based learning disabilities, including dyslexia. We believe that every individual has the potential to learn and thrive with the right support. Our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, from young children to adults.
