Malcolm Marine, Inc. has been a staple in the marine construction, towing, and salvage business for over six decades. Founded in 1960 by Keith and Barb Malcolm, the family-owned business has continued to thrive under the leadership of their children. Based out of St. Clair, Michigan, with our tug dock in Port Huron on the stunning St. Clair River, we proudly serve the Great Lakes region.

Our company specializes in icebreaking and towing, utilizing our 110', 2250 hp tug MANITOU. We also maintain a fleet of several smaller workboats and numerous barges, ranging in size from 10' to 150' in length. Our construction division excels in dredging, seawalls, piling, and dock installation, and we are equipped to handle any size job, be it residential, commercial, or public.

Our Services: Towing, Salvage, Dredging, and More

*Towing*: With a diverse fleet of vessels, we offer reliable and efficient towing services on the Great Lakes. Our team is experienced in handling various types of cargo and can accommodate both short and long-distance towing needs.

*Salvage*: Our expertise extends to salvage operations, which include retrieval of sunken vessels or cargo. With a range of equipment, including tugs, barges, lifting equipment, air bags, pumps, generators, and divers, we are equipped to handle even the most challenging salvage operations.

*Dredging*: We provide mechanical dredging services for both public and private projects. Our experience includes working with the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and numerous local municipalities. With the capability to perform dredging jobs up to 20' deep, we handle projects of all sizes and ensure proper disposal of dredged spoils.

*Piling*: Our team specializes in driving both in-water and foundation piling. We have experience installing piling for various applications, including bank foundations and new home construction along the St. Clair River.

*Docks*: We install residential and marina docks as per your specifications or assist in the design process. With extensive experience along the St. Clair River, we ensure high-quality installations that withstand the test of time.

Icebreaking and Construction Capabilities

Our tug MANITOU is an ex-Coast Guard icebreaker, enabling us to break ice up to 2 feet thick at a continuous speed. Our team boasts over 45 years of experience breaking ice for ships on the Great Lakes. Furthermore, our construction division delivers unmatched expertise in dredging, seawall installation, dock installation, and piling, ensuring top-tier services for any marine project.
