American Beauty Cruises & Charters has been one of the most beloved attractions in the Hamptons since 1992. We take pride in providing our customers with unforgettable experiences on the water, with a range of services that cater to various preferences and needs. Our boat, the American Beauty II, is a custom-built 44-foot sightseeing/party boat, docked on Long Wharf in Sag Harbor, and is US Coast Guard inspected and approved to accommodate up to 33 passengers. With amenities such as a bathroom, shaded area, and spacious seating, our boat ensures a comfortable and enjoyable cruise.

Captain Don Heckman, a native of New Jersey, discovered Sag Harbor in the 1970s and fell in love with the place. Although a brain tumor ended his commercial fishing career, it did not stop him from being on the water. After recovering, he obtained his captain's license and bought his first tour boat, which he replaced with American Beauty II about a decade ago. Captain Heckman's passion for the water and meeting new people is what keeps him going, and he plans to keep it up until "he dies or wins the lottery."

Our Services

At American Beauty Cruises & Charters, we offer both private charters and ticketed open boat rides. Our two-hour sunset cruises and 90-minute nature cruises are ticketed and available for everyone to enjoy. The sunset cruises typically run Thursday through Monday during the summer season and are our most popular boat tour, selling out on weekends. Our nature cruises offer a narrated sightseeing experience within the Peconic Estuary System and allow passengers to learn about the historic whaling village of Sag Harbor from the water.

Our private charter services cater to various events, including bachelorette parties, weddings, wedding receptions, group and school reunions, birthday parties, fundraisers, summer camps, and class field trips. Our boat can accommodate up to 33 passengers, making it perfect for large groups. We have two tables onboard that can be used for food and beverage requirements, and a ramp is available for easy boarding.
