Company History

Barsh Construction Company began as a one-man contracting organization, with W.H. Barsh utilizing his carpentry skills to contract work as he attended Baylor University Law School. After completing law school, Mr. Barsh continued in the construction business, and for four decades, Barsh Construction Company flourished in the construction industry in Central Texas. Following Mr. Barsh's passing in 1995, the company was sold to employees Vernon Leuschner and Tate Christensen and became known as Barsh Company. The company has maintained a philosophy of skill, responsibility, integrity, and versatility, with a focus on skill and efficiency.

Barsh Company has grown significantly over the years, with the majority of growth coming from the competitive hard bid marketplace and repeat business from satisfied customers. Today, the company performs ten to twelve million dollars of construction annually, primarily through competitive bidding. The company has expanded its marketplace to include design/build projects such as the Raleigh Building Renovations for the State of Texas and the additions to the Lorena High School. Barsh Company believes in having expertise in all the basic building trades, the basic manpower available to perform these basic trades, the proper equipment available to efficiently perform the work, and subcontracting specialty work to established and reputable trade contractors.

Our Team

Barsh Construction is unusual in today's construction marketplace since we have our own work forces to perform the majority of our work. We have available sufficient heavy equipment to perform all utility and the site development work for the typical construction project. Our company currently has approximately fifty full-time employees. Additional personnel is employed on an as-needed basis. We believe that one of the reasons for our success is the performance of many construction trades performed by our field personnel. We believe that performance by our own personnel results in a more efficient control of the construction process, shorter time for construction, better quality control, and savings to the Owner.
