About Dr. Walter

Dr. Melanie Walter is a licensed and board-certified dermatologist who leads our team. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan, her medical degree at the University of Arizona, and her dermatology training at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Walter is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and continues to expand her knowledge and skills through ongoing education. She is passionate about providing the latest treatment options to her patients and is an active member of various professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the Medical Dermatology Society, the Virginia Dermatological Society, the Women's Dermatologic Society, the Roanoke Valley Academy of Medicine, the American Medical Association, and the American Surgical Dermatology Society.

In her spare time, Dr. Walter enjoys traveling and has a deep commitment to providing care in less developed countries. She has served her local community for over twenty years and has also provided care in several parts of Africa and Southeast Asia. Dr. Walter proudly supports the Red Cross and Health Volunteers Overseas, enabling others to follow in her footsteps.
