As a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst with over 30 years of experience, I, Dr. Susan L. Wainwright, am dedicated to helping individuals of all ages navigate the complexities of their minds and emotions. About Dr. Wainwright

With over 30 years of experience in the field, Dr. Wainwright has developed a trusting and non-judgmental approach to therapy. She is a Fellow of the International Psychoanalytic Association and has received extensive training in various therapeutic modalities. Her expertise includes child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, and psychoanalysis.

Education and Training

Dr. Wainwright holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Michigan State University, as well as a Doctor of Medicine degree from Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine. She completed her internal medicine internship at William Beaumont Hospital and her psychiatry residency at Wayne State University's Detroit Psychiatric Institute.

Dr. Wainwright has held various academic and administrative positions throughout her career, including faculty appointments at Michigan State University and Oakland University William Beaumont (OUWB) Medical School. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and American Psychoanalytic Association.
